3003 H14 aluminum alloy belongs to aluminum-manganese alloy (Mn content 1.0%-1.5%), and its high aluminum substrate (≈99%+) gives excellent thermal conductivity (about 193 W/m·K), while 5052 H14 as an aluminum-magnesium alloy (Mg content 2.2%-2.8%) significantly improves strength through solid solution strengthening, but the thermal conductivity is slightly lower (about 138 W/m·K). In terms of mechanical properties, the tensile strength of 5052 H14 (230-280 MPa) is about 58% higher than that of 3003 H14 (145-195 MPa). Although the elongation is similar (12%-16%), 5052 aluminum alloy has better deep drawing performance due to the presence of magnesium, which is suitable for complex sheet metal forming, while 3003 H14 thin aluminum plate has more cost advantages when ultra-thin fin stamping.

3003 H14 aluminum plate relies on the oxide film formed by manganese to perform stably in a humid environment, which is suitable for medium corrosion scenes such as air-conditioning systems and building decorations, while 5052 H14 aluminum alloy has become the preferred material for ship decks and offshore platforms due to the strong resistance of magnesium to chloride ions. Low-temperature heat exchangers (such as refrigeration equipment) prefer 3003 H14 to ensure a balance between thermal efficiency and economy.
The density difference between the two is small (3003 is about 2.73g/cm³ vs 5052 is about 2.68g/cm³), but 5052 can be replaced by thinning the thickness to achieve higher strength in lightweight design.

Comprehensive selection requires a balance between performance requirements and costs: 3003 H14 is suitable for heat dissipation components, food packaging and other scenes that emphasize thermal conductivity or formability, and the unit price is 15%-20% lower than 5052 aluminum alloy; 5052 H14 is more suitable for structural parts that withstand mechanical vibration, seawater corrosion or high-pressure loads, such as aircraft fuel tanks and chemical containers. Its higher initial cost can be offset by extending the service life. For special applications that require both high strength and thermal conductivity (such as new energy battery cooling systems), composite structural aluminum alloys of 3003 and 5052 or surface coating processes can be used to achieve performance complementarity.
